The Newtown Review is the yearbook of the school that is compiled by fifth year students and edited by both student and staff editors. It has been published every year for over 70 years in which time it has gone from a small, typed news-sheet to the highly professional glossy magazine it is today.
Highlighting the events, adventures and achievements in both the curricular and extra-curricular activities in the school throughout the year, it also features many interviews with staff and students, past and present. It is an opportunity for students to experience at first hand the intricacies of writing, editing, collating and typesetting, working as a team to deadlines and managing to see the fruits of their hard work with the publication of the Review.
For quite a few years now, the Old Scholars Association has joined up with the Newtown Review and their report now forms a part of the Review. It gives news of many Old Scholars, highlights events and happenings as well as some in depth interviews with Old Scholars and great photographs of the Old Scholars Reunion weekend.
The Newtown Review gives so much pleasure to all those involved in the school, from the student and staff editorial teams to the many parents, students, staff and old scholars who await it’s arrival during the Summer with great anticipation. A copy is sent to all members of the Old Scholars Association as well as to parents of current students.
